Parma board member, Giacomo Malmesi spoke to the official club media yesterday as he attempted to reassure fans the club have done no wrong.
"At the moment we are experiencing a difficult time because we are forced to play a game we don't want to, but we will play with all the power and commitment. Parma were promoted on the pitch, fully deserved and fair and what we are accused of is so petty and absurd that to be honest I do not believe that this case has ended up in a sports court. Since the reactivation of the team we have always tried to act in accordance with the rules and spirit of the game. We did not argue with the media, we did not argue with about the injustices that affected us, now we can not run away from the discussion. I think that Parma can do something good for all Italian football. We are a model of society without flaws, no debts, a society that has always been exemplary. We are convinced that the process of 'Cazzein' will not cause any sports damage. Any other result of this situation would be illogical and simply absurd. At this time, in the face of the storm we are still trying to look ahead and build a team for the upcoming games. It can not be concealed however that all this matter also in the media causes huge damage both image and economic, therefore when it is over we will assert our rights and demand compensation. As for the fans, I will confirm what we said a few days ago, keep calm, I understand that the whole situation is very difficult and abnormal for you but trust us, nothing threatens our participation in Serie A, at this point we must remain united, show our pride and character together." @giovannid86 @Solo_Parma

Luca Carra: “Our fans can be calm”Parma, yesterday reacted to the announcement of the Federal Prosecutor's Office and convened a special press conference in which Luca Carra took the floor on behalf of the club.
"After many days of speculation and suspicions accumulating today in the afternoon, we finally received an official announcement from the Federal Prosecutor's Office to close the investigation, regarding the text message Calaio sent to his colleague from Spezia before the match of our teams, and refer the case against our player, and, as a consequence, also to us, to the Sports Court, we have always tried to speak with moderation and caution, avoiding unnecessary controversies, but now we can not remain indifferent to what is happening and remain silent. I'm sorry but Serie A was won by Parma on the pitch in accordance with the spirit of sports competition and this can not be questioned by this type of accusation referring to one of this frivolous SMS. a favor for the club that took off from Serie D and thanks to the incredible sporting and organizational effort he achieved something great. We are waiting for the time of justice and we have no doubt that the Sports Court will support us and show our innocence. Parma on the field has done something that no one could afford before and nobody can ruin it. Our fans can be calm, we assure you that nobody will take n the Serie A. " Parma Allegations: LatestMore details are being received concerning the investigation involving Parma, for the events related to the game with La Spezia a month ago.
In fact, the notice of the conclusion of the investigation by the Federal Prosecutor's Office has been notified, which establishes how Emanuele Calaiò and Parma Calcio will be referred (for objective liability). They have excluded Fabio Ceravolo from the procedure, which is not mentioned. Below is the statement: “The Federal Prosecutor, having examined the documents of the disciplinary investigation carried out in relation to the Spezia-Parma game of 18 May 2018 - concluded the investigations by formulating the following accusations: Calaiò Emanuele, player for Parma Calcio 1913 Srl, violation of article 7, paragraphs 1 and 2, of the CGS, to have before the Spezia-Parma game actions in place aimed at altering the regular performance and the final result of the aforementioned tender, attempting to obtain a minor Competitive commitment by the players of Spezia Calcio, Messrs Filippo De Col and Claudio Terzi, to ensure their team the favorable result of the meeting and in particular by sending to this to Filippo De Col a few days before the race, messages using the whatsapp messaging application ". And yet, the Federal Prosecutor blames "the Parma Calcio 1913 company to respond as objective liability, pursuant to articles 7, paragraph 2, and 4, paragraph 2, of the CGS, for the behavior implemented by its member Calaiò ". Parma have this afternoon released an official statement answering the accusations:
"We have not received anything yet about the referral" See below the official communication....... "Parma Calcio 1913 learns with dismay and confusion the press reports concerning the alleged referral for the alleged violation of the Code of Sporting Justice which apparently has came today from the Federal Prosecutor's Office to the Club and to it's players Emanuele Calaio and Fabio Ceravolo who sent some text messages to former teammates before the match between Spezia - Parma, we wish to specify the following: As of today (1:55PM on Wednesday 20th June) The Club has not yet received any kind of communication about the conduct found to be disconcerting. We really can not conceive how the texts and content of the messages in question can become such a serious situation and we are convinced that those who will judge it will do so in compliance with the rules, justice and common sense. Parma Calcio 1913 continues to have the highest confidence in Sports Justice but asks that the truth be established as quickly as possible out of respect for the club and its fans. Parma Calcio 1913 - Which we recall has never even been contacted with or communicated to in this proceeding hopes that as many details of the investigation can be made public by the Sports Justice immediately or at the end of the procedure, even the text messages in question so that all Italian sportsmen can have knowledge of their content. Already in the recent past, Parma has had to endure significant damage in terms of infamous accusations that have proved groundless without receiving any protection. In recent weeks Parma has witnessed a number of insulting, insinuating statements by executive members of other clubs without anyone ever censuring these behaviours or lifting a finger. Parma Calcio has never been part of this circus and fully intends to stay out of it. Parma also has no desire to participate in a media process where contrasting news changes day to day and Parma finds itself learning from the newspapers the evolution of the investigation in question. First we want clarity, justice and respect for the rules. Finally we want to continue to reassure our fans as we remain convinced that in any way the disputed facts can be an illicit act. We are therefore certain that this event which is still causing serious damage to the image of Parma, technical, commercial and economic can only be defined without consequences for Parma Calcio 1913. We ask all our fans to stay close to the company and to the team and to all the people who compose it who deserve the trust of all of us for their behaviour always shown on the field and out at the beginning of our re foundation path" This morning the Federal Prosecutor's office terminated the SMS proceedings, referring the case to the Sports Court on charges of sports fraud.
The Parma pair in the dock, Emanuele Calaio and Fabio Ceravolo sent messages to Spezia duo Filippo De Col and Alberto Massi before Parma's 2-0 victory securing the Gialloblu's return to the top flight. (It should also be pointed out that Parma relied on Frosinone dropping point against Foggia in the final day.) Now, within 10 days Calaio, Ceravolo and the club will be brought to trial where they will have to defend themselves against sports fraud in front of a judge. Despite the club insisting they have done nothing wrong and promising the fans the issue would be cleared up sooner rather than later, If found guilty, Parma' s punishment could be deducted points from last season, or simply just ordered back to Serie B for the new season. . After 46 gruelling matches at the end of the 1997/98 season, Parma stalwart Lilian Thuram, would dust himself down, ready to go again, as he headed home to meet up with the rest of Aime Jacquet’s French squad preparing for the World Cup of 1998 on home soil.
At 26, Thuram was already talked about as one of the best defenders in the business. In his second season at the Tardini since joining from Monaco, he would help lead Parma to a solid sixth place finish as well as reaching a Coppa Italia Semi-Final, not to mention experiencing Champions League football despite Parma crashing out at the group stages. The build up to the 1998 World Cup was all about Ronaldo and Brazil, while the Samba Boys opened the tournament with a 2-1 victory over Craig Browns Scotland, the hosts had to wait two more days to get their campaign underway. Quietly confident, Jacquet started Thuram the right back position as expected for their opening game against South Africa, playing alongside the Parma defender was, Marcel Desailly, Laurent Blanc and Bixente Lizarazu making up a formidable back four, a back four that cruised their South African test by running out 3-0 winners. If Thuram and co thought that game was easy, Saudi Arabia proved even more of a stroll as Les Blues destroyed Carlos Alberto Parreira’s side 4-0. With France comfortable thought to the last 16, Jacquet changed to a back three, meaning Thuram sat out as Vincent Candela came in to take his place. With Thuram earning a well-deserved break, France would ultimately lose their first goal of the tournament as Michael Laudrup scored from the penalty spot, however goals from Youri Djorkaeff and Emmanuel Petit were enough to send the host through with a 100% record. As France headed to Lens for their last 16 clash with Paraguay, Thuram would find himself restored to the starting 11, with Thuram back, France ultimately kept a clean sheet, despite a tough task against the South American’s, Laurent Blanc secured victory with an goal in extra time. Thuram would come up against Parma team mate Fabio Cannavaro in their mouth-watering Quarter Final clash with Italy in Paris. Arguably two of the best defences in the game, it was going to be a tight meeting, yet again Thuram would keep another clean sheet, as would Cannavaro, Luigi Di Biagio was the villain for Italy, his penalty rattled the cross bar sending Paris into pandemonium. Thuram only ever scored two goals for France, both of which came in the one game and what a game to score them in, with France trailing to a Davor Suker goal, Thuram responded immediately levelling the game up before his 70th minute strike sent Croatia home and gave France a place in the World Cup final against Brazil. As France comfortably defeated Brazil 3-0 to be crowned World Champions, Thuram would be awarded the bronze award for third most valuable player in the tournament as he was part of the impressive French backline that only conceded two goals in seven matches, just one from open play. Gio Dougall @giovannid86 @Solo_Parma With his distinctive, saturated yellow locks matted to his bowed head, Tomas Brolin trudged off the Parken Stadium pitch, bringing to an end another long hard season.
Parma had just lost to Arsenal in the European Cup Winners Cup Final of 1994, an Alan Smith goal would see the Londoners leave Copenhagen victorious and Parma heading home wondering what if. For Parma’s Swedish midfield maestro he’d have been on the plane thinking about his chance that rattled the post in the opening 20 minutes, an inch the other way, it could have been a very different atmosphere as Parma headed back to Italy. For many of Nevio Scala’s side I’m sure after a tough, vigorous season they’d be up for going to sit on a beach for the rest of the summer with their families, however for many of Parma’s squad they had a World Cup to prepare for in just over a months’ time. In fact, Parma had six representatives in Arrigo Sacchi’s 22 man squad heading to the USA, Luca Bucci, Luigi Apolloni, Antonio Benarrivo, Lorenzo Minotti, Roberto Mussi, and Gianfranco Zola all had plane tickets and passports at the ready. Faustino Asprilla would also be on the biggest stage of them all representing Columbia, whilst his South American neighbour Nestor Sensini was preparing Argentina and of course Tomas Brolin was getting ready to go State Side with Sweden. At the age of 24 Brolin was probably in the best shape of his life and arguably playing the best football of his life. Sweden, drawn in a group with Cameroon, Brazil and Russia weren’t predicted to go far in the tournament, despite having a talented pool of players to choose from. Tommy Svensson took his side to the Rose Bowl in an opener with Henri Michel’s Cameroon, Brolin was handed the number 11 jersey for the tournament, where he’d play behind Borrusia Monchengladbach forward Martin Dahlin who would earn Sweden a point as his 75th minute strike tied the game at 2-2. Just five days later Sweden were heading to the Potanic Silverdome, knowing defeat to Russia pretty much meant the end of their World Cup dream. Svensson went with Kennet Andersson and Martin Dahlin in attack with Brolin once again behind them, despite the Swedes going behind after just 10 minutes. Tomas Brolin stepped up to level the game from the spot before Dahlin struck twice in the second half to secure all three points ahead of Sweden’f final group game against the formidable Brazil. Brolin would be instrumental as he set up Kennet Andersson to hold the favourites to an impressive 1-1 a draw that would see Brolin and Sweden progress to the last 16, where they’d face Saudi Arabia. Andersson and Dahlin were scoring for fun now, with Brolin pulling the strings behind them, people were beginning to sit up and take notice of this entertaining side, with a comfortable 3-1 victory over the Saudi’s, Sweden breezed into the quarter final. Romania was all that stood in the way of Sweden and a World Cup Semi-Final. In a cagy game, Tomas Brolin thought he’d won it, in one of the tournament’s most iconic moments, Sweden were awarded a free kick, as the clock approached 80 minutes, Stefan Schwarz was lining up to shoot, however he jumped over the ball before Hakan Mild passed it to Brolin who fired Sweden in front, Florin Raducioiu however would tie the game moments later. The game would finish 2-2 an head to penalties. Despite missing the first spot kick, Sweden hit five perfect penalties after that with Brolin scoring Sweden’s third as Svensson’s men won 5-4 on penalties. That disappointing night in Copenhagen with Parma just a month or so earlier must have seemed like a distant memory now for Tomas Brolin as he prepared to take on Brazil in a World Cup Semi-Final. With the World watching, Romario would go on to break Swedish hearts as Brazil won 1-0, however Sweden would go take the bronze medal finishing third with Brolin scoring his third goal of the tournament as Sweden demolished Bulgaria 4-0 in the third / fourth place playoff. Brolin’s impressive performances throughout the 1994 World Cup earned him a place in Fifa’s Team of The Tournament. Gio Dougall @giovannid86 @Solo_Parma It's reported Emiliano Viviano's move to Parma could soon be on. The 32 year old Goalkeeper is believed to have met with the Sampdoria hierarchy this week where he was told he is no longer in the clubs plans as I Blucerchiati begin their search for a new Number 1.
Despite interest from Portugal, Sporting Lisbon seem to have cooled their interest in the keeper' putting Parma in pole position for his signature. Viviano would appear to be the perfect fit for Roberto D'Aversa, as the coach looks to bring in a goalkeeper with plenty of Serie A experience going into the new campaign, Viviano certainly has that, racking up close to 100 appearances for Samp as well as having six Italy caps to his name.
