Parma have this afternoon released an official statement answering the accusations:
"We have not received anything yet about the referral" See below the official communication....... "Parma Calcio 1913 learns with dismay and confusion the press reports concerning the alleged referral for the alleged violation of the Code of Sporting Justice which apparently has came today from the Federal Prosecutor's Office to the Club and to it's players Emanuele Calaio and Fabio Ceravolo who sent some text messages to former teammates before the match between Spezia - Parma, we wish to specify the following: As of today (1:55PM on Wednesday 20th June) The Club has not yet received any kind of communication about the conduct found to be disconcerting. We really can not conceive how the texts and content of the messages in question can become such a serious situation and we are convinced that those who will judge it will do so in compliance with the rules, justice and common sense. Parma Calcio 1913 continues to have the highest confidence in Sports Justice but asks that the truth be established as quickly as possible out of respect for the club and its fans. Parma Calcio 1913 - Which we recall has never even been contacted with or communicated to in this proceeding hopes that as many details of the investigation can be made public by the Sports Justice immediately or at the end of the procedure, even the text messages in question so that all Italian sportsmen can have knowledge of their content. Already in the recent past, Parma has had to endure significant damage in terms of infamous accusations that have proved groundless without receiving any protection. In recent weeks Parma has witnessed a number of insulting, insinuating statements by executive members of other clubs without anyone ever censuring these behaviours or lifting a finger. Parma Calcio has never been part of this circus and fully intends to stay out of it. Parma also has no desire to participate in a media process where contrasting news changes day to day and Parma finds itself learning from the newspapers the evolution of the investigation in question. First we want clarity, justice and respect for the rules. Finally we want to continue to reassure our fans as we remain convinced that in any way the disputed facts can be an illicit act. We are therefore certain that this event which is still causing serious damage to the image of Parma, technical, commercial and economic can only be defined without consequences for Parma Calcio 1913. We ask all our fans to stay close to the company and to the team and to all the people who compose it who deserve the trust of all of us for their behaviour always shown on the field and out at the beginning of our re foundation path"
