Its game on as it stands as Parma prepares to travel to Genoa, but with the Ducali’s current financial mess you just don’t know what could be round the corner. Last week’s visit of Udinese was postponed with Parma unable to pay for stewarding to host the event, meaning Roberto Donadoni’s men haven’t played since their impressive point they eared against Rudi Garcia’s Roma in week 23, a performance they will be hoping to build on going in to this fixture. This week’s preparations have been anything but smooth over at Collecchio with Parma hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons yet again. Club captain Alessandro Lucarelli confirming the players will make their own way to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Sunday, be it in the own cars or by funding their own bus. Lucarelli also admitting this week that the clubs laundry room has now closed down meaning the players have to take their own kits home to wash adding to the fact the club now no longer has it’s gym scuppering preparations even more. As for the Grifone, they are still hunting down a Europa League spot, Genoa are coming into this game without defeat in the last four rounds. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side will be in confident mood after their draw in the Derby della Lanterna during the week, his side are also unbeaten in the last six meetings with Parma, with home advantage on their side they will be hoping to heap more misery on this struggling Parma side. Despite this, Gasperini’s men should be aware of a Parma side out to prove a point, with passions running high in the camp, this could prove to be a potentially tricky tie for Genoa. Earlier in the season Genoa came away from the Tardini with a 2-1 win thanks to an Alessandro Matri goal in the third minute of added time. As sign of solidarity will be shown towards Parma in this weekends round of games, every Serie A fixture will start 15 minutes later than normal to show support to everyone affected by the financial mess at the club.
