Parma's pint sized midfielder reflected on yet another wonder goal this afternoon, his freekick strike put Parma 2-0 up against Sambenedettese before the 10 men fought back to earn a 2-2 draw.
"I'm sorry because we wanted to give the ultimate joy to the fans. The next round is not to be, no matter what is said we fully deserved all three points, yes in the last ten minutes we were poor and rarely touched the ball and we were punished for this decline in the closing stages, we dropped our intensity and should have killed the game off, even at 2-1 we had chances to put it to bed. It is with regret that we didn't win today but we learn from these mistakes and move forward to Lega Pro next season. My performance today? I thought I done well, I feel fine, with regard to the goal, I saw the goalkeeper was way off his line and ready to challenge Cacioli when the ball was whipped in, I did think of targeting Cacioli but with the goalkeepers position I had to take it on and have a go and thankfully I managed to pull it off. The future? We still do not know anything, I hope to still be here. What we need for next year I feel would be to add some experienced heads in the squad, guys who have experience playing at a higher level, not too many maybe just four or five to make the squad more competitive and to keep the young guys on their toes. My highlight of the season has to be when the final whistle sounded against Delta Rovigo and we knew we were up." Follow me - @giovannid86 @Solo_Parma Facebook - Solo Parma

Lorenzo Saporetti spoke of his delight yesterday after returning to full training, the young full back has been out for three and a half months and yesterday Saporetti managed to complete 70 minutes in a practice game against Nazionale Trapiantati.
"We were thrilled to welcome the boys of Nazionale Trapiantati, it's always a nice to play against them. I am fine, after today the feeling is positive, I am coming back slowly but I'm getting there. This is the first week I have trained with the entire group again since my injury, I am happy about this. Athletically I feel fine, I feel fit, I have worked with Paolo Giodani for two months, he has helped me regain my fitness and for this I am ever thankful to him. This is a happy time for me, yes, I am coming back from a long injury where I experienced a difficult journey back with the most difficult times being when I was really struggling to move my leg at all, it was really bad. I have very close mates and my family have helped me through this very hard time which has made my recovery slightly easier knowing these people are here for me. For next year if I stay or not I still do not know anything, obviously though I hope to stay here at Parma." " Source - Parma Fanzine & Parma Calcio 1913 This afternoon, live from Cibus, Nevio Scala and Gigi Apolloni spoke on Radio 24. Together with Carlo Genta they analysed the season and also took a look to the future.
Nevio Scala; "That season objective? At the start it was not so easy to tell, we started from scratch, we were returning from a failure, On August 1st we had two players, Alessandro Lucarelli and Lorenzo Adorni. The rest was nothing. I was instructed to choose the technical staff, I called Gigi Apolloni, Lorenzo Minotti, Fausto Pizzi and we left with the desire to repeat what has been in years past, with great humility and enthusiasm. To return to the pros was the first goal that we set " Gigi Apolloni: "It was crucial to find certain people, Scala has chosen above all men, people he knew, and we reported his teachings with the addition of our experience but with the values that Scala had taught us. It was not all easy, the many difficulties we have faced and overcome through unity and purpose. I did stand up for a city like Parma, who had suffered a very strong delusion, we wanted to bring pride back to Parma. We tried to convey these certain values to the players. " Nevio Scala: "The public? It was something indescribable and unexpected. The failure had zeroed morale, the fact that some entrepreneurs have had the courage to make available their time to rebuild has given people an important stimulus. No one expected such a brief revival. Names that have supported this project are important, then they had the fortune or misfortune to choose us at the head of this company. In the '90s we had built something memorable and people saw in this Parma something that could take our own path. The world of football is increasingly polluted, the message we wanted to send is totally opposed to this. People need to clean things, real things, and to live in peace this sport which is extraordinary. Gigi is in great form at the psychological level, he has built an extraordinary dressing room. It's a surprise, I did not think he had become a great coach, but instead I discover each day that has the incredible quality. a We were all under review, it has been a very difficult year, expectations were so high and to finish unbeaten, you better believe it is a unique achievement in Europe. Scala was then challenged by a fan of Clodiense who asked, "What's the point in Parma entering Serie D, no one can compete with their huge budget?" Nevio Scala: "I'm sorry you feel that way, because it is not the truth. We started with a limited budget and is equivalent to many teams in our group. Indeed, teams in our group have spent more than us. We have worked with seriousness, with humility and transparency. Parma must be an example, and it was. The transparency was total, we have not spent more than the others, we had the ability to choose the right people, we have built with Apolloni an extraordinary dressing room, and this is worth more than any amount of money. " Gigi Apolloni: "Of the requests to the President for next year? A person like Nevio Scala next to a young coach is the best thing possible, I have had a big help, he gave me all the space that a coach should have, I was never embarrassed, I often compared it with him and a coach like me you may feel lucky to have a report like this. Nevio Scala: "The pressure of having to come back soon in Serie A? It is not a pressure, 10,500 people in Serie D have bought season tickets. We have an obligation to do everything possible to satisfy their desires. we should not be afraid but be happy with everything these fans have given us." Follow me - @giovannid86 @Solo_Parma Facebook - Solo Parma Gigi Apolloni in recent days was interviewed by Maria Carla Magni of FlashOn Mag with the coach speaking of his emotions of taking over Parma and what his future holds...
"Having played so many years here in Parma (13) and having enjoyed so much satisfaction by winning European trophies, Italian Cups and leading this team as captain, I lived my dreams here. Last year I lived through all the bitterness, disappointment and anger the people of Parma went through. Even though I was with Slovenian side Gorica when Parma came calling I couldn't say no, they wanted me to bring Parma back again, knowing the fans like I do, it was only right I do so as we have a special attachment. This attachment can still be seen today, I remember when we were eliminated by CSKA Sofia on away goals and 'The Boys' gave me a plaque saying there was no greater satisfaction that the effort we were showing, this bonded us even more." "The new Parma? when I arrived I asked to speak directly to Lucarelli in private, when you begin a journey like that with the difficulties that may come out you must be prepared for all to be on the same path and to put the past behind us. I started my speech my saying that on the pitch Lucarelli is me, off it Lucarelli represents all of you, anything that you need to be brought into question you speak with Lucarelli as he is our leader. Speaking to him (Lucarelli) I could see in his eyes the desire to drive this new project forward, to pull out the wounded pride of this city and disappointment caused by the behaviour of some people who he and this city had believed in." "My secret dream? There are many dreams, one of these is to continue to climb here." It was nice but I was also a bit nervous because it was only the second time I had played from the start, I thank my teammates though as they have helped me to gain confidence on the field to enable me to play better." The 20 year old also went on to discuss Parma's preparations for the Poule Scudetto... "The Poule Scudetto? We are really happy to have finished the championship unbeaten but now starts a new page. Yes it was nice to receive the nice words from Mister Apolloni on Sunday but now I have to start from scratch and work hard to make sure I play from now till the end of the season, I have a good feeling I will be able to.
