From one of the richest clubs in the world to a club who are trying to rise again 12 months on from being declared bankrupt.
Manchester United and Parma Calcio 1913 will both share the same shirt sponsor. As well as being on Jose Mourinho's sides famous red shirts, the AON logo will also be seen on The Ducali's kit. AON, the leading company in the world of risk management, insurance brokerage and human resourcing consultation announced their three year partnership with Parma yesterday morning, the deal seems light years away from just over a year ago when Parma were in disarray and being bought by Giampietro Manenti for just a euro. Just how significant a deal is this for Parma? Teaming up with one of the worlds largest companies, firstly it gets the Parma Calcio 1913 named noticed and the brand spread throughout the globe, it's not a deal that going to make Parma win games but it's a deal that sees Parma take a huge step in the economic revival of the company. The AON group has a turnover of $11.5 billion doing business in over 120 countries in the world, they also have 69,000 employees, with 1,500 employed in Italy. Despite this deal yesterday the numbers and figures of how this will affect Parma over the next three years were kept top secret, remaining firmly behind closed doors with a consortium of local entrepreneurs. The AON deal is a huge coup however for Parma. Speaking at yesterday press conference president Nevio Scala couldn't his delight at the deal. "I just found out that in Gaelic AON means 'Union' i.e. - One organisation working together to reach a common goal. It's the same philosophy we have here at Parma and together I believe we can make a long path of mutual satisfaction" As well as seeing Mourinho, Ibrahimovic and De Gea at Carrington next season with AON plastered over their chest, you will also see Apolloni, Lucarelli and Zommers going through their paces at Collecchio with the same eye catching logo on theirs.
